Tilla is named after Tillamook Rock Lighthouse in Oregon. At the time, It was the most expensive lighthouse ever built due to its treacherous location. It was decommissioned in 1957 and in briefly became a columbarium in the 1980s. Today she stands abandoned with access only by helicopter at certain times of year.
